So I didn't notice any July ROTM and wanted to do something! We are planning on going to Mt Graham for some camping and fishing. Wanted to see if anyone would be interested in coming along? Or if there were any suggestions as to where to camp. We'll be there both Friday and Saturday camping then heading out midday Sunday. Thanks!

I don't think I can make it, but the Campsite around the lake on top is really nice. I am not sure if the spots fill up, but if you get there early Friday, you shouldn't have a problem getting a spot.

There's a bunch of other spots on top - once you up the big hill and get past all the switchbacks.

I know they were installing picnic tables and garbage cans in a couple areas after the turnoff for the telescope.

There were lots of skunks up there, and they came into the campsites regularly. They are pretty used to people, and tend to only come in to eat the little food morsels left by campers. The rangers like 'em because the bears don't bother coming around because the skunks eat all the available food. But if you have a dog that might get excited... that could be something to watch out for.

Wish I could make it and meet up with you guys again. Wilma, Your young pup would probably herd up all the skunks in the area. Lots of energy!

Have fun ~

Gonna be working a TRAL event on July 19th. I know its a ways out but how about Labor day weekend for a few days of camping?
