Hey all,

I'm curious if anyone has had success mounting a hi lift jack to the factory roof rack? I've searched the forum and scoured the internet looking for a mounting solution, and so far this is the closest thing I've come up with:

Amazon product ASIN B003CEODQI
However, I'm a little concerned that the above solution may not work with the factory roof rack since they aren't exactly round. Curious if anyone has used these?

I've also seen mention of using Mighty Mounts with a Slee adapter of some kind, but I can't find it on their website. It looks like perhaps it's no longer sold.

Any other solutions that people have found that work well to mount a Hi Lift Jack to the factory roof rack? Preferably a product that is already out there, as I'm not looking to fabricate anything myself.

At the moment, I'm not interested in getting an aftermarket front / rear bumper ... and I'd prefer to have it mounted outside versus inside (mostly due to space constraints).

Thanks in advance!

You could easily build a mount out of strap steel or fish plates that would sandwich the crossbars then extend to go through the holes in the jack. I did something similar with my cargo basket. those hi-lift mounts are for use on rollbars or round tubing, they would not work on the factory crossbars.

If you don't want to build, I'd bet the TM 700 or TM 750 would fit:

A few U-bolts, u-bolt plates, a bit of rubber tubing (for protection), a few nuts, and two wing nuts would be a much cheaper solution.

I’ve actually done it using those exact mounting points. I bolted them onto the side rails but near a 45 degree angle so the orientation had the point in the U bolt at one of the corners of the factory side rails. It was extremely sturdy and I was surprised it was that easy. This is the only pic I have though of that setup unfortunately

Perfect!!! Thanks a ton for posting this. This is exactly what I was hoping for, that setup looks great.

Quick question .... did you go with the 700 (1-2'') or the 750 (2-3'')? Measuring the side rails, it seems like it could go either way?

It was the smaller 700 one yes. Good luck

I use the mighty mounts, no Slee needed. I secure them up through the holes on the jack. Bought some round threaded knobs of the web and use a locking washer with them. Never budged once. Used a longer, if I recall, center bolt and a nut/washer to keep it in place.
