Any of you guys ever have a motor mount this bad? Replaced the driver side today and it was completely destroyed. Not sure how something like this happens.

The motor mount stabilizer, metal piece on top of rubber mount, was completely folded over on the motor mount and was actually cracked in one of the corners. On the right is what a motor mount is supposed to look like. On the left is what came out of my rig.

Too much, peddle to the metal!

Sent from my hawn finga using IH8MUD

Maybe the engine was yanked at one time and they hit that metal tab pretty hard. Hard to say without knowing the entire history if the vehicle ya know.

What prompted you to look at the mount? Noticeable idle/revving vibrations, visually noticed them while addressing other issues?

It was still bolted in on the top and bottom. Not sure what happened. Figured it had been bad for a long time and the torque of being in four low several times over the years took its toll. Kyle, it didn't fix the shifter but I think with the mount being that bad for that long may have made other parts give way. TOR said it may be the rubber grommet that holds the actual transfer case shifter. Going to check that out and I'm still waiting on the other motor mount to come in so I can replace it. Maybe that'll help a bit.

Hi William, how difficult was it to change the mount? Is there any special tools needed? I have pairs of engine mounts sitting in my tool box for 2 years. If its not to complicated, i might gonna change mine soon.

Super simple. Mine was a little more difficult because it was mangled. No special tools needed. Just a jack and a 17mm socket. Helps to have at least a second set of hands to help.

Where did you position the jack? Do I have to remove my IPOR TC Skid plate or just loosen the TC mounting bolt?

I have the IPOR also. Nothing has to be done to it. Position the jack directly under the hump on the oil pan. I had to use a couple of 2x4 blocks on top of the jack to make it high enough but it worked perfectly.
