Mostly On-Road Tire Suggestions?

The irony of course, is that here in Holland/EU, it is friggin' impossible to find ANY tire in 275/60-18 (stock size on my LC100) that DOES have white lettering.

I love that look, and it is extremely rare over here. I just ordered some General Grabber HTS in that size from Germany on the express guarantee from the seller that the tires have white lettering, and of course they arrive WITHOUT white lettering....

None of the brands/tires that are sold "RWL" or "OWL" Stateside have that over here. Go figure. Not the Yoko AT(S), not the Conti's, not the Michelin, etc....

For the record, I too need tires for road/highway/street use almost exclusively.....

They're veeryyy slightly saggy. They bottom out on bumps they shouldn't bottom out on. I thought of the rim size change too, but the sidewalls on the 18' wheels seem much less stiff than the LTX's on my car. It might also have something to do with the fact that according to the lexus dealer, my front sway bar is sheared clean off. Any word on road noise from the CrossTerrains, pman? My dad's gotta get four new tires pretty soon, and he's the old-man squishy comfy type. Considering the loudest noise in the 100 is tire roar, I'd like to see if i can get quieter tires.

They are quieter than the LTXs, I couldn't tell you how much quieter since its hard to compare tires that are brand new to worn out ones., I got about 65k miles on the first set, and I think i have about 25k miles on my second/current set.

Some other stuff i like about them is the fact that unlike the LTXs the sidewalls on the crossterrains don't get stained by GA red clay/mud. Also, they seem pretty tough, I have them on my road queen LX, which doesnt go offroad anymore, but when i did take it wheeling in the past they seemed pretty resistant to scuffing and chunking. They do okay in mud for a tire that is intended for all season road use, but they will still cake up.

can you just turn the white letters inward??

Liam, I think he wants the white lettering

In that case break out the white-out.

I put yoko geolander hts e rated 285/75/16 in 2006 and have 45k on em no problems in the snow this year. Ok for fire roads and hunting. I rotate all 5. i HAVE HAD THE LTX CANT TELL ANY DIFFERENCE BUT THE e RATED ARE STIFFER BUT THATS GOOD WITH THE HIGER WALL ON THE BIGGER TIRE I THINK.
DO THE 5/150 TOYO WHEELS ALL WORK? 45-60 OFFSET MATTER?

IMO best bang for your buck on a stricktly road tire would be the Falken S/TZ04 Tires - Ziex S/TZ04 - Falken Tire

My buddy swears by them for his work vehicles..He outfits 5 rigs, and I think he gets them for around $100 a tire..

For the price I am almost temped to pick up a set of their High Countrys http://image.trucktrend.com/f/24600...potlight_05z+falken_tire_high_country_at+.jpg or maybe even check out the new Wild Peak Wild Peak All Terrain Sneak Peek | Editorials Blog & Opinions at Truckin Magazine
