Has anyone installed the Morimoto H1 2Stroke 4.0 LED Bulbs in the lx470? Looking for thoughts and experience. I am considering it. I have lasfit led lights with the extended weather caps. Would I need to switch to the rubber extension caps or would mine work? I would probably also get the Morimoto high beams. All 5500k, nice softer white. The 6k is a little blue for taste but still superior light output to standard halogen.

The videos and pics of the LED patterns and brightness just don't look as good as the regular projector retrofits.
I went with new morimoto ballast and lamps instead. One downside of the LED retrofit is if you have any issues with the setup, you have to disassemble the headlight to swap out the components.

@JBerger I have seen the retrofits and they do look amazing! The retrofit is too intimidating for my skill level. Just seeing what I can do to make the most of the stock setup.

With your retrofit, could you have chosen LED instead of HID? Curious.

If you don't want to retrofit, you can just buy the H1 lamps and new ballasts from morimoto. Make sure to grab the ballast plates from The Artisan Garage for easy mounting of the ballast. It's a drop in upgrade, just go for a cooler bulb like 4500 or 5000 instead of 3500.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone try the 2Stroke 4.0 in the lx470 stock projector housing. I'd pay the $240 vs trying to open up the housing for a retrofit. I just need to see that they are at the least better than any halogen.

@cambo16 Same here. I currently have LasFit Leds in stock projectors, and it is much better than stock (low bar to beat) but the color temp is around 6k and sometimes feels a little too blue for my liking. Whereas these morimotos are in the 5k range which I personally prefer. And, if I add Baja Design aux lights, they are also 5k range.

I have them in my stock 80 headlights with projectors. looks great. Better then any other LED I've used in a projector.

I have the 2.0 in my tundra and it's not that great... weird bright spots here and there.

love the color temp on these, most others are too blue for me.

Thanks bussman. The fact that Morimoto covers these with a lifetime warranty also makes me feel like this is the way to go. Do you happen to have any pics of these LEDs in your 80 projectors?

Not yet. I did have one fail in my tundra when it was like 4 years old, fan started getting loud and light was slightly dim. they did replace it right away.
