1978 FJ40 desmogged, smog controls disconnected by PO.
When you turn key to accessory position and wait 2 sec the seat belt/Pbrake warning and gauges finally come on. Turn to start they work just fine. Go driving and they cut out as soon you hit a bump. NOW OPEN KICK VENT AND LET IT SLAM CLOSED and they come back on. WTF? They arent working now regardless of what or how hard we "love tap" it.
Fuses are good, even ran 10mm/40 cal brass bore brush thru the contacts with my dewalt. Gauges are getting ground, power ok, seat belt connector good, only visible issue is the heater resistor(crumbled).
