I get so angry when I read things like that. The people looking to preserve the right to enjoy their "own public lands" are constantly outgunned because the legal system in this country caters to those who can "afford" to be represented by attorneys in the courtroom. Why in the world are we being forced to fork over money in order to sue- to keep our own land ?! :frown: It must be a pretty discouraging job to try to finance an effort to not have Uncle Sam screw us out of our land.

More power to them!

what people dont realize, if we as a whole want to do something, whether or not these legal assholes say so or not, we are going to do it.

i am not above bolt butters and chainsaws and duct tape.

i strongly agree that there is no GOOD reason we should have to keep OUR land from being closed from US.

I prefer canola margerine myself. Back in So-Cal they were closing roads as fast as they could either with or often without the opportunity to voice an opinion. The feather in our cap, so to speak, was that they were stretched so thin with people to enforce closures that it was meaningless. We would occasionally meander into areas that were officially closed and what could happen? Have you ever seen one lonely back country sheriff or even forest service employee who was going to argue with and issue citations to a dozen club members, wearing sidearms and carrying orange ODOT trash bags full of garbage?? Our club(Gold Coast Cruisers) were constantly being begged by the local Law to help them maintain trails, clean up, replace signs etc. Fight the legal battles when you can but when they close them because THEY can't adequately patrol them it's time for us to do so.

that is exactly the thing. its not responsible users getting the trails closed. i personally dont even think its the irresponsible users getting trails closed. its big brother and the "richers" thinking they need more control over what we do.
