Just installed MOOG tie rod ends less than a month ago. After a couple trips to Hollister off road park and some trails around yosemite national park, the tie rod ends started to rust! When I replaced the OEM ones, they didn't have that much rust on it. I'm actually surprised since I had MOOG tie rods on my 100 series and it didn't rust this quick! (I only had them on my LC100 for 2 months before a drunk driver totaled my car).
I cleaned them out with a wire brush and sprayed them with some corrosion protective spray. I'll be replacing them with OEM parts the next time they wear out or if rusting continues to be a problem. Don't want the rusty tie rods to get stuck on the ends of the steering rack.
