Monthly meeting in Charlotte this weekend-Whitewater Center 1PM 5/3

Hi guys,

Thanks for letting me join you this afternoon. My wife likes the t-shirt.

I appreciate the tips on how to track down thread where Rice listed and sold his FJ40 last July. I found it and was therefore able to see the photos he'd posted when he listed it for sale. It does look like something I'd be very happy with.

Here is a link to the FJ40 I mentioned to several of you. Note the hood and roof damage I described from the latch incident... His ask is/was $4,900.

I hope to find/decide on something soon and will try to make the event in 2 weeks. If anyone from th Charlotte area is just going for the day, let me know and perhaps I can hitch a ride and contribute some gas money.

It was good to meet everyone and the Whitewater facility is pretty nice, great location for a group function like we had. Hope everyone can make it in August.

Meeting recap:
-We discussed the details of the Uwharrie ride coming up May 16th-May 17th (Will be posted this week in another thread)
-We discussed Safety Inspections and the process for the upcoming Uwharrie Ride
-Introduced a few newcomers
-Recapped the OBX trip for those who were unable to make the trip.
-Discussed the monthly meeting formats and trying to incorporate a full day event for those making a day trip. HAMOM's included when possible.

If anyone has any specific questions let me know.

It was great meeting everyone and I'm looking forward to our next meet at Uwharrie.
 
There would have to be some serious cleaning of Crabtree if people were to get wet in it! Imagine what drains into that creek!

I agree with Brian, there has already been a relatively long term issue with Crabtree.

I'm sure Brian knows but there has been the beginnings of planning for a "play area" at the Neuse river dam. If I recall, there was even the beginning of a budget to look into it but we had all the drought issues and it pretty much shut it down.

The park in Charlotte is going through some financial situations and it may have to go through some refinancing to survive or get a "bail out" from governing bodies. It would be said to see it close and go unused after all the effort that has been made to make it one of the nicest WW parks in the country...
 
Sorry I couldn't make it guys. I was in NJ for a wedding this past weekend, then towing the sister-in-law's car back to NC in the pouring rain last night. Hope everybody had a good time!
 
:DI just got my season pass to this place.
I asked them about group rates Greg for the meeting in august and they said i'll just have to call them with all the info and numbers around that time.
They do do them though. :beer:
