Monthly meeting in Charlotte this weekend-Whitewater Center 1PM 5/3

Ok this weekend we are going to have another get together.
I haven't finalized the day with Greg yet so I need to know if you guys want to do it on a saturday or sunday. Either is fine with me.
For venue i'm thinking the rivers edge bar and grill at the US national whitewater center. That ways if anyone brings their kids there should be stuff to do.
Let me know... we will have the day and venue finalized by tomorrow night.

Also for those of you who would like to go, I will be heading up from raleigh and am willing to pick anyone up on the way. I have room for 3, 1 comfortable seat and 2 not so comfortable seats...sorry when it comes to mileage it gonna always be the diesel.

In a previous quote from LakeNorman_FJ40, what about meeting at this Car Cafe show that gets together the first Saturday of each month?

"There's an event north of Charlotte on the 1st Saturday of every month from 9 - 11am...Car Cafe. It's off exit 18 at Northlake Mall near Panera Bread / Zobo / Starbucks. It started with the Ferrari guys and now has a huge showing of every car imaginable from Minis, BMWs, Porsches, Cobras, Camaros, Mustangs, Hot Rods, etc. etc...even a Lamborghini. Easily over 100+ cars and hot rods. Last weekend my son and I attended in the FJ40 and there were tons of people looking at the 40 and taking pictures of it?!?!?! If we wanted to avoid "planning" but incorporate into another gathering this would be a good idea...would be cool to see a line of FJ40s-60s-80s-100s at this event. Maybe we meet at this and then at 11am pick a place for lunch?"

I was planning on this one for June. Since some of the guys from out of town (3 hour drive) expressed some interest in making this one it would be an early rise to make this one for the car show.

In fact I already had this marked down on my calendar for next month to remind myself of it. If anyone else has a suggestion for venue i'd love to hear em. Only stipulation is that we have to be able to meet at least after 12 noon to give the out of towners a chance to get here. I'm trying to move them around the area.

I know, I should have called. But I'm not really stuck, just taking my time. The DS gave me a hard time (damn caliper bolts and cone washers), but the PS came apart quick. The caliper bolts were practically finger loose .

Just need to finish cleaning everything up and slap it back together hopefully on Friday.

Sorry guys, I can't make it. I'm getting certified in "Wilderness First Aid", its an all-weekend course. I guess I'll be learning how to stop spurting blood with pine tar and splint a fractured femur by making a cast out of red clay, hay and using pussy willow reeds to tie it all up...

Sent you an PM...can't make it this Saturday. I'm a scout leader for my son's troop and we're doing a Lake Norman area campout Saturday / Saturday night. If you guys decide on Sunday, I can probably make it and might be able to bring one of the other scout leaders along too who also has a FJ40 and a FJ80. We'll just be loaded up still with all our camping gear...

Regarding the car show on Saturday, make sure to check a few other (local) car forums to make sure Car Cafe is still happening...seems like they were taking one month off in May, June or July??? Would hate for guys to show from RDU area and the show get canceled for some reason...

If we need to leave at 5:30 to be there by 9:00, that should be OK. It's not looking like too many people will be able to make it though. If that's the case, do you want to each drive so we have more trucks present?
