Models with DVD player

Hey guys! I've been getting an increasing amount of orders for 100s with the 2nd row flip-down DVD player option. As far as I know, this DVD console has two map tights on it. Does anyone know what years these features were added and what size the bulbs are?

Slee's newbie guide states that the DVD player became an option in 2001. I guess not a lot of people ordered it as such because I have only seen a handful of them. Still looking for the bulb size...

It's on some 01-02's but a different version of the the DVD player is on a good majority of the US market 03's and up. Not sure of the bulb sizes. I would certainly categorize it as dim mood lighting.

I have an 2005 and I have it..(flip down DVD player) should have said something when I ordered my lights from you.. cause of course what you sent won't fit.....

Not sure I caught the fact that you had the DVD player. In any case, I'll send you whatever bulbs type fits those sockets and you can keep the extra panel! I'll send you a PM as a reminder...

No worries. It was due time that I got caught up with the correct bulb types for the 100s spec'd with DVD players as a lot of them are starting to become "enthused" upon.

Anyone have experience removing the passenger flipdown DVD player from their rig and putting back the OEM interior light that was there? What is under there when you remove it? Do I need a new headliner? Is it worth the effort? I just bought the rig and it happened to come with one but I will never use it.

At that same decision point on my '05. Kids have ipods/ipads so the dvd player belongs in a museum. Have the OEM 2nd row dome light on order since the dvd lights are very dim. However, the headliner has a giant hole hacked in it.

I plan to cover a piece of plastic with matching headliner material to cover the hole and still have the dome light.

03 with fold down DVD

Hey Paul, I pulled out the bulbs from the center DVD light. Not the same as the map lights. It has the metal conical ends. 12V8WKL:2Y on the side. I sent a message on your website tonight. Thanks for all your help.

Do I need a new headliner? Is it worth the effort? I just bought the rig and it happened to come with one but I will never use it.

I pulled out the DVD player from my headliner and installed the OEM dome light assembly. However, I'm left with a hole that was apparently cut by an axe murderer.

Anyone know a good source of stone-colored fabric that I can make a cover? I also am thinking of ordering an interior plastic trim piece that I can scab into place so it looks like part of the dome light assembly but also covers the hole.

Any ideas? Yes, I plan to install Pfrans LED mod later on.

Note: I now have a DVD player, mounting bracket, remote and two wireless headphone sets for sale. All in perfect working order. No cables included (didn't want to tear the interior apart to get them out). PM me if interested.

OK. Figured out the cover for the first aid kit slot will be the perfect size to cover the hole.

You might snip a small piece and take it to a Joann Fabrics or one of those Craft / Fabric stores. They have a lot of fabric that you can see in person as the online sources tend to be tough to gauge the proper color match.

Mine has the DVD player, I ended up installing this LED bulbs on mine.

@phippsj: Any chance of getting some pics of the finished project with the hole repaired (covered)? Im wanting to do the same with mine...rip out DVD and return to OEM light only.
