Lets talk.

Lets go. 1330 miles from my door, stated at 19 hours. 2 day drive each way, do 800 miles day one and stay in Nebraska for the night, then head out in the morning to finish the drive. Do we go the same time as we did SD this past year? In place of Flat Nasty?

Not in place of fn!!!!!!

June 27-july 8? That windows works for us....

When would we be doing FN? I doubt I could pull off two vacations that close together.

May 31 to june 9 for pys right now.

July 26 to August 11 is also a possible window.... if jenn is really giving me a 2 week window, im taking it! Even if i head to colorado, and/or vegas, etc...

I like the july 26-aug 11 window. That gives me plenty of time between things to make sure I can enjoy the trip and not have to rush back.

unrelated but not sure which thread it was in, there was talk somewhere about doing something instead of toys for tots or razors for tots or whatever it is this year and I don't mind putting out an option of a box social at my place instead.

Fags. I only get 5 days of vacation this year and ive been wanting to go back to moab since i was there in 05.

Cant you combine that with two weekends and have 9 days?

I'd love to go in September or April, but don't have the flexibility in my schedule. It is what it is. That's why I've never been to Cruise Moab or Pismo or Roundup.

That, of course, doesn't mean the group can't plan for a cooler schedule.

Its hard to plan a good wheeling trip in the summer that wont be hot as hell. Black Hills was a good compromise. I think a lot of people here prefer summer for big trips, I could be wrong......?

EDIT
BTW, we don't have to do Moab. If anyone wants to do something different, post up. My thoughts on Moab: The few opinions I was getting was leaning toward Moab (Joe, Todd....). If we are going to drive 1000+ miles, we may as well go to Moab.....just cause its Moab. I do not NEED to go there. We could also hit Southern parks (TX, OK, AL, KY, TN.....), or CO, or the new parks in MI (which I hear good things about).

My first reaction was "fxxx that s***!" when I read woody's post, but its going to be hot anywhere we go in summer that isn't North.

At least Moab is a dry-hot...humidity doesn't exist...tho early June will make for more tolerable weather - nighttime temps average 10 degrees lower in June than July. You could primitive-camp at Area BFE too, the elevation helps slightly at night :)

KOA has cabins with swamp coolers...surprisingly effective...

Most trails are 4-6 hour trips with small groups, so it's possible to return for tasty malts at Milt's by 2-3pm. The Poison Spider > Golden Spike > Gold Bar run is a long day, particularly if issues arise or ya don't keep moving...that's also a point-to-point run, so any trailer-types would need a ride back to the beginning.

I'll be 'that way' a bunch this summer...(honestly, it'd be far easier to just live that way...but...) June 18-23 is the 25th Rubithon and July 17-21 is the Summit in Ouray.

And superlift or somewhere else in the south is going to be humid as well as hot.

Yup, I actually am more interested in hitting the parks down South than Moab, but that "kind" of heat will likely be worse.

The only mild Summer weather wheeling I can think of (with in 1500 miles) is BH, CO, and Michigan.

I could crank up the AC in the camper and we could all just make a big giant pile of sweaty flesh every night.

As long as I get to sleep next to Ginger at least one night.

I call big spoon.
