I took the dash out to replace the P and the N lights which were out and causing my VSC/TRAC light to come on - which fixed the problem. The question I have is that when I removed the dash and replaced the bulbs I noticed that there seems to be a bulb missing - see the attached pic with the arrow to the missing bulb area. For those of you who have taken out their dash - should a bulb be there? Do you know what the bulb would indicate? The description for the bulb insert is only in Japaneses as opposed to the bulbs to the right where it is written in both English and Japanese. I guess I can always replace it to see if it even works but I am a little worried if a bulb is not supposed to be there than it might cause a fault somewhere if I do install one.

By the way this is on a 2000 LC.

Put a flashlight where the bulb would go and see what illuminates on the other side. Or shine a flash light from the front and look into the hole.

Dang too late - dash is back in. Great idea though. I will need to take it out one more time b/c I did not buy enough bulbs (stoopid me) plus I think I'll upgrade the steering wheel, so will have another chance to try. But still makes me wonder if the PO had it taken out to hide a fault.....Truck is running fine and no fault codes (says the dealer).

If the PO had a normally functioning central nervous system, he would have yanked the green "D" bulb after the first 10 minutes driving at night. ;).

With a super bright flash light, you can usually see if there is a silhouette.

In my Middle East spec 100, that's where the warning comes on for going faster than 120km/h.
