Has anyone replace outside mirror glass with success? I was busy mounting my LED turn signals to the bottom of my mirrors and didn't realize my son was pulling on the wiring. He pulled a little to hard and my mirror is now cracked. It is also not connected to the motor section anymore. SOR.com wants $40 for the glass. I haven't PM'd CruiserDan yet for a price. I can get a complete used mirror for $75 from the boneyard. So any experiences with fixing the glass would be of great assistance and would save me $35.

I used to be an engineer at the world's largest automotive mirror supplier. For custom shapes I grabbed a larger mirror and belt sanded it to shape. Mirror glass is available at most auto parts stores. Wear gloves and safety glasses. Round the edges for strength and chip resistance.

The glass replacement doesn't bother me so much. It is weather or not I can get it to snap back into the motor section without it breaking.
