A Toyota-Nissan parts yard wants $350 for a solid front axle from a 1984 4x4 pick up. Is that too much? Anyone know where to get it cheaper. It will be for a front disc conversion on an FJ40. Thanks.

I would think not really. Those are hard parts to find and the demand is relatively high. Does it also include all hubs, knuckles and 3rd member?

I don't know if it comes with all that stuff. I haven't gone to the yard to see. But thanks.

i got one i bought to do the disk brake conversion on mine but now i just wanna sell it along with the cruiser. ill sell ya the front end for $250. Its in ruff shape but its all there. I will take pics if intrested.

Its been a while since I have been in the mini's world (I used to have an 85 4Runner 22RE), but I think that there was a change in the axle/thirdmemder for the minis somewhere in the 83-84 range. I can't remember when. The predated axles are in less demand than those after the changeover. Check on A.O.R. web site or All-Pro off road. See what they are selling theirs for. If your looking for an axle to build, check out All-Pro's Hybrid Toy front axle with F350 knuckles and captured crossover steering.

I could be totally wrong about the change too, but I just remember hearing something funny like that.

sorry ive been out of town latly

i have pics of that too if intrested.
