Hi all,

Depending on the condition, I wouldn't pay more than $100. But I'm a cheap SOB, your milage may vary. :D

I would walk around a JY in NH if I were you. Like Roger said they are usualy about 100. Depending on what your looking for you might be able to get it without buying a whole Axel (nuckels etc) I gota ask, why no hubs? If you have an extra set (or even 1) I would defentily take them off your hands :D

Only reason I can think of is because the hubs are probably the most expensive thing on the axle.

Well,

I have the axle, sold the hubs and was thinking to sell the axle too to make a bit of money to help with other stuff.

But at $100, maybe I should keep it in case I need it or the birf's in the future.

Ahhh...I thought you were looking to buy one, not how much to sell one for. If I was selling one, I'd part it out unless someone was looking for a complete axle. Everyone needs (should have) axle shafts and birf's for trail spares. Rotor's are a $20 throw away part, but the hub unit is not. Knuckles and a housing w/ the 3rd member should fetch you about $75 depending on the gearing.

Personally I might be interested in the bare housing. I want to truss & reinforce my front, but don't want to take the one in the truck out. I'll do the work and then swap over my third, knuckles, and what-not.

Sam I would be interested in the knuckles if you were to part it out, you could sell the axle housing to rblank and you would have your spares. It would even give me the chance to get you those steering boxes.

Hey now, that sounds like a great idea. I would be all for that if rblank would be in too. I will need a bit of time to pull it apart and clean it up etc.

rblank, do you say you want just the housing, not the diff gears?

I'll buy the birf's and axles if you don't want them.

Lane, I will concider that...For now I am thinking to keep em'. I will let you know if I change my mind in a few weeks.

Just to confirm, this is a Minitruck axle from a 85' sr-5. So if that is what your looking for rblank, Jason, Lane...Then cool.

I'll get it disassemble and cleaned up by the end of next week...We can take it from there.

I'm interested if the price is right. :D Yes I'm interested in the housing only. It's not bent or tweaked any correct? And where are you located? And don't tell me "In a van, down by the river."

I'm in no hurry. Gonna cut the knuckles apart to make rear disk brake brackets for my full floater. :grinpimp:

How are you going to do that?

I'm thinkin $60:D...Is that fair/right? Not tweaked at all, but I will confirm when I clean it up.

I am in Middletown CT, you are both in RI. Maybe we could all meet up on 95 somewhere? ???

Those will both work for me. :) I'm in no hurry, so don't rush on my account.

WOW! That's a lot of work.... I only paid $90 for my rear disc brackets from Sky. Pretty beefy. Don't know if they'd work on an FJ though.

And either one of us can make the trip, no big deal.

Yep, I'm running mini birfs in my 40. If you decide to get rid of them let me know.
Thanks
Lane

Leaping deer, if you want the rotor guard things from the knuckle housings you can have those too.
