You think a broken brif will keep me down... hells no, you get out your back up ride and wheel.......... I think silvercruiser needs some 37's but I still took all the hard lines....
THANKS DAVID...... I'll be sure to clean her up before i give her back..........
This was a great trip, We ran the trail in 4hr pavement to pavement. Ammo blew a bead at about the easiest part of the trail going 1 mph. This was resolve in about 7 min. with the help of some air tools and a CO2 tank we had the bead back on and we under way. All and all a sweet day run, and good to hang with my old friend Matt(he is an OG Socal 80 guy).
AMMO has 25% ownership in the cruiser for all the times he has spotted me and saved my butt.
Brett, you are so right...I do need new tires. I don't think Pro Comp X-terrains can handle a 6000lb rig in the rocks. I keep reading the tire threads and I'm torn between the Nitto Terra Grapplers and the Toyo Open Country AT. Even toying with Toyo Open Country M/T just concerned about traction in the snow.
Glad you guys had a great time. As much as I wish I could have been wheeling the Wife and I enjoyed a nice weekend in Newport Beach sans kids : )
FYI, I have no problem loaning my truck out to friends that enjoy it as much as I do. It's just a truck and everything can be repaired...plus the friends that I loan it to have all the skills necessary to make it better than before they borrowed it.

I think some of the Colorado guys (i.e Romer) love the TOYO MT's in the snow (I think some have them siped and some do not). There is some siping on the tire from the factory. IMHO I think the toyo mt's would be better in the snow than the pro comps (I have zero quantitiative data to back this up). TOYO MT's are supposed to be pimp on the rocks as well. I think that they are an E load too. Should be able to handle that monstous rig of your with no issues.
I took the son to the beach in Sunday, in two hours I got burned! He was wearing sunscreen and was fine. Next time you are down hear drop me a PM and we will meet up.
2x on the Toyo MTs, I have not heard on bad thing about them. If I were looking at new tires these would be it.
Matt:
Good to see you got some wheeling done. How long are you in town for? I have never been on Miller what's it like?
Here's what the Gold Coast Crusiers found on opening weekend.
Extra char with a side of crispy. Pinstripes are inevitible. resistance is futile.
Wally seems to only like to use 3 wheels at a time. But no wagons went on this run, so hopefully somebody with an H1 has ventured in already and widened the trail for me!
Remains of the "Day Fire" last year that burned for a month.
really dry conditions exist, and lots of loose soil and boulders. should be extra challenging by the end of summer since it's the closest wheeling to Ventura county.
Sad to see, Millers was always a beautiful trail to run. Especially before they re-routed the begining and you got to run along the creek for a mile or two. At least it will grow back eventually. Hopefully no serious rains before the first stage ground cover fills in.
