Gas Mileage 3,000 mile trip after new HG, VG and Injectors
So I just completed a 2,985 miles in the Cruzah ave. 14.354 mpg. Mileage on individual tanks varied from 12.12 (some trails and 4lo) to 16.89 mpg, speed, mainly driving 75-80, with some sections up to 90 mph. I had a personal best before the fuel light came on of 237 miles !
I was going to change the diffs and TC to synth in AZ and check for an improvement on the drive home just didn't get around to it.
Observations
Best fuel economy seemed to happen with 85 octane (UT and AZ), not sure why ?
2 worst tanks on Oregon gas Oxygenated winter gas?
I think I would have ave. closer to 15mpg except for about 400 miles we had a stiff head wind some times keeping 70 mph was a challenge. Sad thing on the drive home the wind also changed directions. We also had about 75 miles where it snowed, I don't understand the effect but, I've heard the cold weather effects the mileage?
Ran like a champ used about 2/3-3/4 qt oil, which considering I pushed her I think is great. Last year when push to 85ish she burned a qt every 1000. We did some mild wheeling, and lots of hiking. I always get a kick from the Jeep tour guys as they stop to let thier clients watch the stock LC, waiting for me to have to take a couple of runs at something.
