I want to replace the power steering return lines and some other hoses. I don't have the time to wait for shipment from Japan.

Is metric-sized hose available here in USA? Or should I use fractional inches and hope to get close.

You can get a good fit with standard imperial hoses. 3/8 = 10mm, etc.

Some of the steel tubes I am trying to connect to seem to be 9mm = 0.354"
5/16" close enough?

I can't say I've ever come across 9mm in my truck. All my rubber lines, with the exception of coolant hoses, are 10mm or 7mm which all converted easily.

9mm seems to fit nicely in between sizes.

The 9mm pipes (if they really are 9mm) are on the vacuum pump.

Vacuum pump recommendation:

1. Get hoses new from Toyota Japan. They are available new.

2. Used better ones.

3. Take hoses to industrial hydraulic shop and have new ones made.

Beno,
There is an industrial hose shop near here. I took the hoses in; I should have taken the vacuum pump. Mechanic measured the vacuum hoses and sent me home with 3/8 id hose: they are too big.

I did get one vacuum pump oil line from Japan. The other, larger oil line was not available.

Power steering return lines are also on my list.

Can you get these for me?
