Hey, I recently had some bodywork done on my LX to clean and repaint under the plastic door sill trim. The shop had both back doors off to do the work.

When I got the truck back I tested all the windows. Everything worked on the first drive. I had the windows all down fully.
I parked the truck until later that evening when I left my place and now the master switch doesn't work for anything but the drivers side door. Worse yet, the DS rear window won't move up or down and is currently stuck down a few inches. Bad weather is coming soon and I park outdoors which is making this much more stressful.

1. Does anyone know the procedure for running a wire from a battery to at least allow me to move the window up? (Wiring is my absolute worst skill)
2. Does anyone else know of an issue like this? My initial thinking is that perhaps the wiring in the door might be cracked or broken when they took the door off. Unfortunately I can't start working on the truck until after the rainy weather passes which will be in a few days.

Included a pic of the truck while it was getting sand blasted. (Thanks to them for not shutting the hatch there’s blasting material everywhere inside)

Remove the door arm rest and cover, find the two wires to the motor. Run a hot wire from the battery positive to one of the wires, and ground the other to any clean metal. If your first try is the wrong direction, then swap the wires. You can also do this by just pulling the switch from the armrest, but there are more than two wires, if I recall, and I don’t know which is which.

Only mentioning because I’ve done this, but have you checked the window lock button? I think when it’s engaged the drivers door window still works but the others are disabled…

Thanks a ton! Just to clarify, pull the power window switch panel in the back door and unplug the plug. Then run a wire from the battery positive to the power wire in the plug itself? Then run another wire from the negative on the plug to clean metal for ground. Should the truck be on acc or actually be on? If I get the wrong wire is there a chance I make things worse?

I did try the windows with the window lock button pressed and not pressed. That shouldnt be the problem.

I think the plug on the switch has more than 2 wires. There is a pigtail coming off the motor that only has 2 wires.

Confusing update:
- I removed the DS rear door and checked for for broken wires. Didn't see anything broken on the both sides of the 2 plugs.
- I swapped the rear window switches and there was no change. I think that proves that the switch itself isn't the problem.
- Finally I DID notice a really odd behaviour. When I unplugged the window switch on the DS rear (the door with the issues), the master switch worked again. Is there a "window ECU" somewhere that could be an issue?

Thanks! I'll be taking this on this Friday.

I did some digging into the wiring diagram and found this. I'm just not 100% sure which wire is which and I can't seem to find what each wire actually does. I don't know what 'D', 'U', 'LMT', 'PLS', 'SGND' means to find which is the power wire.

Another edit:
I found this and I assume I use a multimeter to check voltage at each of the pins in the plug against "Specified Condition" table? Would this help me chase down if I have a broken wire?

UPDATE: I went back to the shop as the owner insisted he should check that the 2 plugs for the door harness were clipped in correctly. As he was yanking the wires out in front of me I knew there HAD to be a broken wire. In my opinion no wires should be pulled as hard as he did - but that's beside the point.

The weather turned out to be good and I had a couple of free hours after work so I decided to go from the inside of the truck and check all the wiring. Everything looked good after unwrapping all the wires. I then removed the guts of the door and unwrapped all the wiring inside the door and found my culprit, along with a second wire that was nearly split.

The one white with black stripe was was broken off. I decided to cut the purple wire as it was already split, and patch in a new section as well.

Thanks for the help, Bisho. Though I didn't end up using your method, it is helpful to know how to do it should another window act up in the future.
