the trailworthyfab chat starts towards the end of the thread.

interesting link from the thread:

BFG Baja T/A 37x12.50-16.5

They listed these on the site just as mine were delivered. I'm not sure I would have upgraded anyway, but if you buy a wheel tire combo the bfg's are only a little over $40 extra per wheel.

Thanks! I'm going through this as fast as my spotty Internet will let me. I want to see yours and hear what you think about them. If they were 35s it would be a done deal 37 is just a hell of a big tire...

I have been thinking about these tires a lot the price just cant be beat on them. You think he would give us a discount if we went in together to buy zrheard? Maybe by mid-November as I am saving the $$$ for them. Anyone else in Bama that might need a set :D

bhmmapping have you got em mounted up yet?

It's a possibility. Call and ask let me know. I guess if I buy any I'll buy 5.... I'll need a rear bumper w/ tire carrier though....

Since wheeling adventures are few and far between for me should I be worried about breaking anything with a tire that big?

From what I have read on Pirate they don't do discounts, but it can't hurt to ask them. Shipping maybe cheaper, but I doubt it since mine went up from 4 tires to 5.

hopefully it will cool off soon so I can get out there and finish this last set of sliders, build some rear bumpers, and decide if I want to build any more sliders.

In the 80 series thread someone in Cali said they got a discount but they were buying wheels and tires from different people we could check and see which way if either is cheaper/better. I would assume buying them all together is best but that may not be right.
We should all
have a get together once you get then on and mounted. I have some empty bottles to bring back up to bham.

Haha every time I go in to get mine in Morgan county it's 5-6 Hispanics in line and then me. Right now it seems like over half of our Hispanic population has left. I have mixed feelings about this since most of the ones I personally know are hard working and law abiding (besides that whole undocumented thing) but still put a drain on city resources and skirt taxes.

Still around. I'm starting to wonder if I am going to be able to wire the lockers once I swap axles.

Why wouldn't you

Why wouldn't I be able to work it? Reading through e-locker swaps it seems like wiring the lockers is a big undertaking. Or I can buy a plug and play set from 12voltguy.com for a little over 300 bucks.

It is? hmm.
I'm so glad I never fell for the OEM e-locker gimmick

If you have access to the donor truck I can't see why it would be a problem. IIRC you should have the main harness so you should just have to pull the pigtails and the ECU out of the donor.

$300 makes those lockers a lot more expensive. Would you have to get a kit for both front and rear or is $300 for the set?

300 would be a set, everything I need to plug and play.

I do have the whole truck so everything is there that I need. But there are lots of threads where guys have both the trucks and they are still drawing wire diagrams trouble shooting and having different problems trying to make it all work.

I thought everything was there reqdy to plug in from the factory, now I don't think that's the case.

I hope I am getting worked up over nothing and that it all makes more sen e when I am looking at it.

From the FAQ
https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/26446-retro-fit-locking-diff-non-locked-housing.html

looks pretty simple to me:

"The ECU and the rotary switch will plug into pre-existing recepticles in the cowl harness.
The indicators in the dash are also present. you need to pull the instrument cluster and add the indicator bulbs to the pre-existing holes in the circuit board. The front axle wiring is also plug in. You need to get a front axle wiring harness. This will plug into the actuator and then make the trip up to the firewall where it plugs into the cowl harness near the antenna plug.
The rear axle is a bit more challenging. You will need a diff-lock rear axle housing harness that will replace the ABS-only setup with one that is ABS AND difflock. This harness terminates at the left quarter. To be true plug and play you will also need a complete floor wiring harness. (big money). You can build a 5 wire harness of your own and run it along the existing floor harness. This is what I did. It is 14 feet long and is terminated on the front end with OEM harness repair splices that fit into the un-used cavities of the floor wire harness side of the connector that mates the floor harness to the cowl harness. "

I hope I can salvage the wires off the other truck because I can't make a harness.

Yes you can. From the description you have two five prong connectors with 14 feet of wire between them. Cut five pieces of wire 14 feet long, plug one wire into the same spot on both connectors. repeat 4 more times. Stretch it out and wrap it in electrical tape or put it in a wire loom. Plug it into both ends on the truck, cover it up with the carpet and you are done. Sounds easier than pulling the full harness from the other truck to me.

I wouldnt need to solder ends or something like that?
