All,

I've been meaning to do this type of thread for awhile, but have put it off too long. This will be a closed thread for some important items and news that usually gets buried in the chat. Anyone wanting to add anything, I'll go and edit a post or throw a new one up.

Welcome to 2013:

First, welcome to the new and returning BOD members for 2013:

President: Brian (GarnerFJ40) until 2014
Treasurer: Allen (Fort Knox) until 2015
Secretary: Charity (sarca) until 2014
Events: Al (Lt1Fire) until 2015
Membership: Johnny(GLTHFJ60) until 2014
Uwharrie: Darin (Kryzabncanuck) until 2015

It's a leaner squad this year, and hopefully we'll be a little more efficient in getting some items accomplished.

Upcoming events:

Meet and Greet is first weekend in March and we need everyone's info if you're going to attend. If you're new to the group, bringing your Cruiser is encouraged, but if it's not running, don't let that stop you from making the event. Family and dog friendly, and close to Uwharrie National Forest. Cruise over to the thread for the specifics.

March Update

Just wanted to thank everyone who came out to the 2013 Meet and Greet! We had a blast, learned how to Tread Lightly, and got to meet some new faces!

Just coming back from the last work weekend before opening weekend at Uwharrie, and we got a lot accomplished on Wolf's Den. New guiderail on the entrance, tail ditches cleaned out along with the creek crossing, the stinky mud hole was trenched for easy drainage, and a new Kiosk. Trash was of course cleaned out along the way. Keep these points in mind when traveling, and make it a point to stop and inspect them. A little monthly check and cleaning should keep these areas in good shape!

Next, a lot of people have noticed that the BOD Section is closed to all but BOD members. In the past, we've let this slide to include past BOD members and founding members. But, we found there was a lot of chat, so to keep things on topic, and allow us to discuss things more efficently, all non-Board of Directors members have been excluded.

Next event is the Leith Toyota Truck Show, sponsored by the NCFJ Cruiser club. I'd like for a good turnout, especially for our nicer older model Cruisers.

And the following weekend is the 2013 Spring Tide Ride. Yes, it's still on, and more information will be coming on that. It'll be the first weekend of May, however those wishing for a full week at the beach, I'll have more information...

So, that being said, Spring is almost here! Get the final touches on your rig as Uwharrie opens in two weeks and it'll be wheelin' time again!

Farewell as Pres.

I just wanted to let everyone know, that even through the growing pains as a club, that I have enjoyed being the Club President for the past two years! I felt like I definitely could have done more, planned better, been more vocal, etc. and so forth. It surely is time for me to sit back and enjoy the club as a passenger after holding a BOD position for the past 6 years.

I'd also like to welcome in Johnny (GLTHFJ60) as the new President (just briefly as we'll have more at the Meet and Greet), and let everyone know that I will continue to work with him until all the finer points of this club have been worked out. We've discussed a new and revised set of Club Bylaws, that have been pretty much discussed in threads, but last set down in one section by our first President, Greg Ashcroft. We have a little paperwork to complete both for our Tax ID status and TLCA Club in Good Standing status. So, we've got some work ahead of us! But, I know this club can handle it. I know our BOD can handle it.

Again thanks! And I still can't think of a better group of people to camp, wrench, wheel, and spend time with!

:steer: :wrench:
