Was looking at a 1969 FJ40 in another city and negotiated for the seller to keep the PTO and winch. I bought this cover in a burst of over-enthusiasm before I ever even laid eyes on the truck, which turned out to be less than I expected. I passed on the deal and now have a very nice PTO Transfer case cover and nothing to attach it to.
Make me an offer. Thanks.

Wall art.

Until you get the rest of the cruiser 😃

What's up with that old dude? I tried talking to him and he acted like he could care less. He said he would separate the winch, but when I asked him to price the truck and winch both separate he said nah.

Can't say. He wanted to keep the winch when I was talking with him but, when we got there, he was having trouble separating the winch from the bumper. The story was that the 40 was used to build a log cabin in the Carolina woods, and was used to winch logs up the side of a big hill. That's actually what spooked me. The frame was packed solid with sand. It was impossible to inspect and I wasn't convinced that it hadn't been bent or damaged at some point. Otherwise, I might have been tempted.

I told him that splined joint was going to be a total PIA. He will probably end up breaking it. Not sure what good the winch will do him without a 40 to put it on.

He ran into trouble breaking the welds on that big cow-catcher bumper. He only had a grinder, but really needed a torch. Honestly, if I had been feeling better that day (that was the first day of my COVID symptoms, though I didn't know it then), I probably would have bought it. I had the car hauler with me. Then I could have added it to the half-dozen other motorized projects that will never be finished.
