Hi Everyone,

Just passing along that another one bites the dust. Had an order through Summit from last May for a Melling MC803 cam. Order just got cancelled. I called Melling and verified they have discontinued this product.

PSA aside. I need some sage advice. I've been sitting on this Melling cam order because I wanted a reputable manufacturer and a high quality product. I know you can buy a cam through JT Outfitters, Cruiser Corps, etc. Problem is... I haven't been able to get information on who the manufacturer is. Not knocking these suppliers because they are offering what they can and they try to do their best and we would all be screwed without them. Like, my brother in law is a syncro guy and there's no suppliers for him - he has to buy worn out used parts so massive thank you to JT and Cruiser Corps!

Back to the point. I've managed to scrape together all OEM parts for my engine rebuild except for the cam and main bearings. I'm still clinging to hope that Clevite will come through on my main bearings.

Any other recommendations for main bearings and a cam? Between parts and machining this will be an expensive engine and I refuse to have it get trashed because of a spun bearing or a soft cam lobe turning to sparkles in the oil. I know ITM makes main bearings. Are there really no other options anymore?

Yup! I contacted them also & posted it "HERE".
I went with ITM cam & lifters. I wonder how long they'll be around.

Am I mistaken, or is Toyota still building these engines for forklifts?

I just rebuilt a 2F and had the machine shop use their available kit so they could check fit and install cam bearings etc. Came with ITM camshaft. No problems after about 20k miles. The machine shop can resurface the solid lifters for a few bucks a piece. They said they are always machining toyota forklift engines.
