I have an old functioning MegaWinch MV1200 on my FJ40. Would anyone have any experience or idea how to properly take it apart in order to replace the cable?
I'v scoured the internet and I've found dead end posts as far back as 2002 of people identifying them, looking for manuals or trying to do the same thing but no luck yet on finding an answer.
I unspooled the winch and I can see a small tab clamping down on the end of the cable. Seeing that finding replacement parts is a near impossibility, I don't want to crack the thing open without some type of plan or idea.
Any help or point in the right direction would be appreciated!
