This is Clifford. He needs someone to give him the love and attention that we haven't been able to recently.

1988 Land Cruiser, FJ62 with fuel injection and automatic transmission, about 315,000 miles. Recently-installed Auburn limited slip rear differential (less than 2000 miles). Upgraded Euro headlights (high beams and low beams, with upgraded wiring). External transmission cooler with additional electric fan installed about 20k miles ago, makes a huge difference in transmission temperature.

Push-button 4WD works, locking hubs work. Thermostat replaced within the last 20k miles or so, with a very thorough cooling system flush done at the time. No overheating issues. Runs and shifts well, gets 12-13mpg, which is about as good as you can expect on the highway with these (especially at this mileage). Interior is in decent shape but with a few broken plastic pieces in the center console.

Many dents from previous owners and hail over the last couple years, a few rust spots on the body, but pretty much rust-free structurally/underneath. Clear coat issues in the paint. Probably needs new steering tie-rods, probably could use new shocks and springs, has a few leaks, nothing too surprising for this mileage. Just haven't had the time/energy to replace those maintenance items.

Hey, that's my Clifford! Happy to answer any and all questions you all might have.

I'm interested! Any rust on the roof / rain gutters? Can you take more detailed photos of the rust spots? Also a few interior pics?

Okay, photos incoming, and a short cold start and drive around the block video. I'm not going to take the time to caption all of the photos individually, but happy to describe any that might be confusing or need more clarification (rust vs. dust for example). I think there might be 80+ photos, so it'll take quite a few posts to get them all up here.

No rust to be found on the floor back here.

Looks a little like rust at the seam, but I think it's just gunk/dirt.
IMG_20200823_171815.jpg

Just dirt, I think.
IMG_20200823_171823.jpg

Dirt/grease in the carpet. All tie-down hooks intact.
IMG_20200823_172255.jpg

A few holes in the fender vinyl.

Rear washer reservoir intact, works fine.
IMG_20200823_172312.jpg

Comes with a few tools. No jack, but I believe it has the pieces for the spare tire lift.

Left rear taillight cover broke at some point (cracked from previous owner, eventually fell apart).

This rust spot isn't terribly deep, I don't think.

Tailgate got beat up by previous owners. Opens/close/locks just fine, but obviously it's seen better days. Dent in the bumper.

Left rear door, lower front corner. This is the worst rust on the truck.
IMG_20200823_172636.jpg

Rear? wheel well.

Just a little surface rust on the frame, nice and solid all around.
IMG_20200823_172737.jpg

left front spring, front side. Obviously needs OME kit. Hasn't been any noticeable issue for going around town.
IMG_20200823_172751.jpg

Front bumper's not bad, but not perfect.
IMG_20200823_172758.jpg

Nice gouge from a previous owner.
IMG_20200823_172805.jpg

Paint peeled here and a few other spots recently thanks to gigantic hail a couple years ago.

Closeup of the paint that peeled on the cowl from a big hail dent.
IMG_20200823_172816.jpg

The roof got the worst of the hail, unsurprisingly. It was baseball and softball sized with 60mph winds... the storm made national news! Clifford held up a whole lot better than most cars for that one (August 6th 2018).

Rain gutters are all pretty good, but got some dings from the hail.
IMG_20200823_172823.jpg

Not good... but the damage didn't result in totaling, the title is still clean.
IMG_20200823_172828.jpg

Biggest hail dent on the whole truck. That must have been one of the softballs :(

Right rear fender well, looking back.

Right rear door.

This is the worst spot on the rain gutters, but pretty superficial.
IMG_20200823_173022.jpg

Right rear door.

Spot under the back of the right rear door.

New-ish euro headlights, with upgraded wiring harness. Huge improvement at night!
IMG_20200823_173216.jpg

Right front spring, front end.
IMG_20200823_173246.jpg

Oops...
IMG_20200823_173312.jpg

Supposedly some sort of rebuild was done at some point... no details.
IMG_20200823_173345.jpg

Transmission cooler, made a huge improvement. Stays below 220F on the hottest of days after 80mph+ highway cruising.
