Not familiar with dealer. Looks like a nice rig at a decent/slightly high price. Lots of fresh spray paint on that frame - if you look I'd drop the spare tire and inspect the frame in that area.

Yep, the pictures are tiny, but looks like a lot of pitting under that fresh spray paint.

@ecm9783 it's not uncommon for local NC dealers to pick up northern trucks and put a little lipstick on the undercarriage. I would call them and ask for the history of the truck. Any history north of NC would be enough to disqualify it for me.

Agreed on the frame spray painting. You can see all the overspray on the muffler. Nothing can beat going to see it in person though. That’s the sure way to tell. I’ve seen northern trucks with nice frames and some with rusty frames. All depends on how they were cared for. A lot of dealers will spray the frames to make them look nice even if they aren’t rusty. I’d say there isn’t obvious rust but may be some surface rust which isn’t bad.

Thanks all. I am in Jacksonville, FL, and so whenever I see one outside of my area I figure it’s a good idea to bring it here for all the good advice! There has been a major drought of 100s in my part of the country.

I can't check it out in the near term, but plug in the VIN in the toyota owner's website to see if that gives you an idea on where it was delivered/serviced with any frequency. This can give you an idea at least, or better yet have a friend run the carfax on it.

I've had the brakes fail on a dealership test drive of a 06 Tundra due to rot. The poor truck only had 120K miles on it but wouldn't have last another 10K miles in the current condition.
