Throwing this out there - have had this truck for a few years, driven it around the country, but now have moved on and it mostly stays parked. Previous owner did a multi year Mexico trip. It's probably not a great candidate if you want a perfect truck, but if you want something you dont have to worry about scratching, it fits the bill.
Driveline: Stock engine, new head and injectors by Scroggins Machine of Houston Texas. H55f swap by Iron Pig off road. New fan & clutch. Axles regeared to 4.56. Could use a tune up/going over, slight hesitation when cold, it has only driven 100 miles in past two years.
Suspension: OME front springs, Deaver custom rear, Bilstein 5100's, SOR anti inversion shackles, stainless brake hoses. Chevy style wheels and 32x11.50R15 tires(id probably go to 33x10.50 next time around)
Exterior: PIAA lights, flood and spot. ARB front bumper, Warn 8274 winch, 4Plus rear expedition bumper with ladder, jerry can holder, spare carrier, hi lift mount, and rotopax mounts. Rear quarters chopped. Plenty of dings and a few dents. Some rust bubbles below the rear window were ground down. so-so resprays but no rust repair or major body work.
Interior: vinyl floor set from Australia, 5.25" front door speakers that dont hit the windows, speaker in dash was for CB radio, rear cargo area built out with HDPE and marine storage hatches a la wagongear. Also has addtional outlets for ARB fridge, USB, 12v outlet, and on board washdown pump.
Extras and stuff: Onboard washdown pump for showing/rinsing out/cooking/etc, ARB 63qt fridge/freezer, Maggiolina Extreme roof tent, Hi Lift jack, Scepter military fuel can and spout, jerry cans for water, tons of extra parts

No idea where to start, $16k?

I have a feeling you really need to turn this rig into a 1st gen tundra. If you're feeling the same thing, reach out! If not, GLWS and that's a lot of truck for the money!

Nice looking rig!! Do you have total mileage and miles since head replacement? how many miles since clutch replacement?

So neither me nor the previous owner are much for record keeping, but here's what I know - he had more money than myself, and paid shops to do everything. Going from memory so not 100% but pretty sure he bought the truck stock from Cool Cruisers of Texas(it still has their sticker), drove it back to Brooklyn NY, and immediately modifying it for a multi year trip. He towed a camper with it, so it previously had a roof basket, I added the fridge, tent, did a bunch of maintenance, etc. Mileage is currently at 267k, head was done at roughly 200k(apparently cracked head or valve seat? replaced with supposed new head, did injectors same time). I think the 5 speed swap was done around 150k, I replaced clutch release bearing around 220k due to noise, everything was in good shape still.

Dont want to over present it, but its definitely a 20 footer and looks better in pics - has had patchwork low quality resprays, this rig was intended to travel, not shine. Plenty of bodywork required if you want a mirror finished truck. Almost nothing about it is perfect, but nothing is really broken either. Tags have expired and while it does run and drive, it could use a going over before hitting the road again.

A few other things I thought of -Stainless Trays battery tray and hold down, new windsheild and gasket a few months back, 4runner wiper arm conversion, Vibrant ceramic cat/flowmaster muffler, newish alternator and pigtail, new OEM fuel sender. Id take a weekend to go over it, runs alright but seems a little low on power. Havent done a tune up in a few years, probably go through vacuum lines, fuel filter, belts, etc. Theres not too much to these things.

Very cool truck and a neat story. Good luck with the sale!

Have you run high mileage seafoam through it by chance? I had an inconsistent idle and after putting seafoam in the oil (I put fresh rotella t4 diesel oil in first) and in the gas mine has been running great! Rotella is awesome stuff for these cruisers. Yours might just be a little gummed up. Thoughts?
