Finally got registered!

I convinced the whole family to come along (:grinpimp::princess::princess::princess::grinpimp:), something I didn't expect to be able to do. So I also had to write a nice check for multiple shirts, I hope I got the sizes all right.

I'll be cooking up a big pot of chicken pot pie on Saturday night.

Can't wait to get out there and meet everyone.

Having never done this trip, it is logical to assume that getting in and out on a tank of gas, without having to carry extra, is doable?

AWESOME!

Matt can you PM all the shirt/hoodie/youth size you requested. We are putting together the shirt order today.

1 tank is more than enough for an 80. You can top off at the O'Brien store if necessary. Pretty sure 40's can tackle it on 1 tank as well.

Yep, doorstep (Live in Central Point) to camp (sourdough) and back is 1 tank for me.

Cool! Look forward to meeting everybody. Chicken Pot Pie.....?!?! Damn, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for that one! Once, when I had all 6 kids at home I bought an entire shopping cart of chicken pot pies! At 4 for a buck it was about $70- a pretty good investment-and we're still not tired of them!:D

We may need a recipe on that one! Bring an extra copy- and don't tell me it's some family secret either.................:p

Nope, no secrets. It's one of my favorite meals, one because it is wonderful to eat, but mostly because it means I get to cook outside with a dutch oven. There's something cool about sitting outside, drinking a beer, while cooking.

See you all in a few short days!

:hhmm: :D
do you also have 'castironitis'? I'm recovering myself. Only 2 DO's and an arm full of pans.
what kind and size DO's do you have? Was going to make this trip light and easy but maybe the DO is in order. A mini DOG, eh?

Yup, I've had the disease for years. I'll be using a 12" for the pot pie.

That's all I was planning on bringing, but if we're going to make it a DOG, then I'll have to bring the dessert DO as well.

I haven't even started to see how everything is going to fit. We're continuing south after the run to visit my folks outside of Red Bluff, so we have to pack for a week+. We'll have to see how much can fit in the 80. Between the :princess: and I, a 6 year old, an 8 year old and a 17 year old friend of the family, we'll be pushing maximum density for sure.

Not much beats cooking in the Dutch Oven though.

ice cream cups

I'll be bringing ice cream cups on dry ice in it's own cooler. Hope it will stay frozen until the pot luck. Any one have an approximation of people on board for the feast? Bye, Ty2

Probably close to 100 by my estimate.

Yep, we are about at 35 trucks + handful coming in on the fireroad and about 65 shirts sold. But some are bringing family and only got the tshirt that came with reg.

true dat! :D
Still, keepin' it light looks best for this trip especially since you're heading on after.
We'll have to 'clink' iron another time. I'm not too accomplished but I do like to try.
Onward,

Don't get me wrong, I'll still be bringing the bigger one, it's just going to be tight.

See you all soon.

For those that don't know, there is a TLCA event section on 'mud.

At the top there is a section for Clubhouse, under there you can find TLCA sanctioned events.

Here is our 2012 thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/tlca-sanctioned-events/580165-mcgrew-trail-ride-2012-a.html#post7776793

And again next year we will start a new one.

:grinpimp::hillbilly::flipoff2:

However most the local information/planning and updates are done here in our little space.

Just thought I would explain that a little better for new comers and those not aware.

You can also find other great events in that section ;)

Those on 2m HAM we will be on:

147.470
