I believe this is an official TLCA event and you must be a member to participate. Membership is inexpensive and has many benefits!

As Bob says ... this is a sanctioned TLCA event & also requires TLCA membership. There is still room. Cut-off for registration is JULY 8 ... if you want any goodies or it isn't full by then :grinpimp:

Okay I am in. I joined, so now I need to sign up for the trip. Is that still only by snail mail?

Matthew

Yep, snail mail to Jeff. Grats on getting the 80 for the family, I think you will be much happier with that than my 60 you were considering, I made the move into the 80 and haven't regretted it. See you on the trail!

Looks like I wont have my boggers sold by then and I will just have to buy some new ones. (These things suck on the road) Not to hi-jack but it looks like it is mostly rock and dry stuff, I would go with Goodyear MT/Rs (thats what I have had before) but they are hard to get now, so BFGs are cheap and good on the road, your thoughts for this trip?

TOY350, which FJ are you bringing?

Matthew

Hard and rocky, best with something you can air down to around 10-15 psi safely.

I am running my 80 for the second year in a row.

Sweet, I was hoping to see your set up - and that bumper. My swamper's are at 15 PSI on the road, freaking bias ply tires :( ....I know they have their place, just not on my rig. I think I am going to go with BFGs, what's everyone usually bring for food, etc. (Just reg. camping stuff?) most of my trips are day trips, no weekend wheeling trips under my belt.

Matthew

Those bias plys can fun on the highway.

It's potluck style and just bring something to share with the rest of the crew, there's always enough food but it's nice that most everyone pitches in. Some have the full camping setup and are grilling some type of meat there, others bring desserts, salads, whatever.

If you are coming down to camp that night in O'Brien before the run, then swing on by and we'll grab some dinner or something. Offer open to all who might be swinging through Grants Pass on Friday. I know 82-SOA-60 will join us too.

Sweat, anyone bringing little kids? I have a 4 yr old and a 3 yr old. Dinner would be cool. What resturant are you thinking?

Matthew

Not taking my kids, but some bring them. Swimming is great and shallow enough in spots that you can watch/hold on to your kids while they enjoy as well.

We could hit up Taqueria if you want Mexican, the Wild River Brewhouse or Pub if you want pizza/italian with beer brewed on premises, The Laughing Clam with many different brews on tap and seafood/sandwiches or we can throw on anything on my grill and do it our own way. All places kid friendy as well as mine with a 6 & 3 year old and a black lab. I'm game for anything!

I might be down for a pre-trip get together if you don't mind one more for dinner. The rest of the family will not be attending this year, with me. Since the family is not coming I might take my Tacoma instead of the 60.

Army FJ your kids will have a blast on this trip. I took my one year old last year and she had a good time. All she said while I was driving was "up down, up down. Anyways a good family trip. Josh

I am bringing my 80, I jut sold my swampers tonight so I will be able to get new tires in time for sure. I also sold my top, but I don think I will be able to get gears and my lockers in before the run, since I am out of town until the 19th. Maybe by the Tilimook ride. Plus I just got it so I need to find out what I really need to buy next anyway. I am sure TOY350's 80 will help me figure that out.

TOY350, Thanks for the invite, I will have to ask what the wife wants to eat I like the sound of Wild River.

Josh- Invitation is open to all, you are more than welcome to stop on by.

Matthew- Whatever works for you and the family is fine by me.

That Friday just happens to be my Bday so I probably will have the day off, you can swing into town at anytime. I will be getting the 80 setup and hanging out.

Matthew- You won't need the gears and lockers for this run, it's not too tough, just a lot of fun and bumps and brush and bumps...you'll see.

Sounds good.

Matthew

Payment sent. Looking forward to it. If Jeff is checking this thread...I wont be at my home address until July 19th so if you could post up here when he receives the payment that would be great. (or to my email matthew_r_kelley@hotmail.com ) 1st LC event with a LC, I am excited! (Went on one with my 93 Jimmy before - felt left out, two weeks later bought an FJ40) :)
