Napa carries the heliocoil kit for $80. For that price, I may be able to just find a used passenger knuckle and be done with...
Anybody know where I can a used one in socal?

Try Japanese auto dismantlers in LA. I get all my used stuff there. I doubt they'll sell just the knuckle though, probably make you buy a whole front axle. Search car-part.com and they come up in the listings of parts. Also, go on Pirate4x4 and post a wanted ad. There's a billion people that hit that site and tons of toyota guys. You'll probably find one there.

Thanks. Cruiserparts.net has one for $75 plus shipping...
I also found a local mechanic that says he can heliocoil the problem for around $135. Reasonable...

Shoot for nearly the same price i would replace the knuckle and keep the old one for spare parts.

Specter OR has them for ~ $40 used. I bought one from them couple years ago when I bent one in really deep snow/rocks

They arent "Bolts" they are studs and yes, they are "Upgradeable" too! Might be one of those "While your in there" things.

yes they are removable. cdan has upgradable ones.
