The guy I talked to at ARB said that with the OME lift you can run 285/75/r17

Slee Offroad told me the same: 285/70/R17

I asked the good folks at Slee Offroad the same question before getting my FJ (I had the 3" OME lift installed by the dealership). They gave me a similar answer that ARB gave Toledo FJ: "285/70/R17 unless you want to get into some body trimming."

285/70/R17 -- 33x11.50 (?)

MORON WARNING: I'm not an expert by any means. I've just let my mouse do the walking, here, to try to figure this out. When I calculate that tire size I get about 32.7" x 11.2".

I found this link which lists the tires I have:

The 285/70/R17's are listed as 33x11.50 ...

Hope this helps ...

bigger

I run 285-75-16 on the factory TRD wheels but I also have a set of 305-65-17 BFG KM2 muds on steel wheels. They are almost the same heigth as the 285s but they appear a lot taller with the Krawler inspired tread. They don't rub anywhere and they look terrific.

285/70R17 is what im running and probably as big as you want to go.
A 12.5" wide tire will rub the UCA if you have the stock rims (too much backspacing).

planning on running a rim with 4 to 5 in of backspacing and a negitive offset will probabalysell stock rims

305/70R17 Nitto TG's do have some rubbing issues even with the bodymount chopped and all of the plastic mudguard suff removed. Generally you only feel it at full compression but it's still there.

I'm quite thrilled with my 287-7516 Firestone Destination MT's...they're AWESOME.

I got the heavier blackwall version with stiffer sidewalls mounted on the Pro-Comp steel Rock Krawlers...I LOVE this set up. These tires perform A+ in all circumstances I've encountered (great on rocks aired down, great on WET pavement (unlike the BFG's), snow is amazing-deeper the better!

And they're only a little noisier on dry pavement than AT tires. Vibration from the lugs is ONLY noticable when creeping at 01 or 02 MPH on pavement.

Two FJ's in my club are running 35's - both have body mount trim, but no real issues (minor contact in extreme flex and turn, but thats it)
