Weld on spring perches aren't that much $$, and the welding shouldn't be too expensive if you can't do it or know someone in need of a six-pack. the bigger concern is how high would that take it and is that too high?

If you did a spring over it would net you the diameter of the axle in height.
roughly 4" i would ditch the heavy axle and go with a 6 lug trailer axle that you order.
it would net the same lift or a little less, give you a mnatching bolt pattern to the tow vehicle
and drop weight.

Ok i give in. Anyone in Atlanta up for helping me out w welding on a couple of spring perches?

I just got back from camping in the Chattahoochee National Forest. I snagged my hitch and bent my tongue winch. Also snagged the license plate while grading a hill with the rear of the trailer :0)

This thing worked awesome though. Just tossed in a bunch of firewood, gear was in bins. Very smooth on forest service roads and trails. No beers exploded. Excellent camping was had.

 Finally got my Kayak. I mounted my Thule bars directly to the bed rails using Yakima Snap-Arounds. I need to make some better hull supports, but my ghetto pool noodle rigs support everything just fine for now.

The bars are almost 7' apart - which supports the 14' kayak well, but I'll need another crossbar or two to mount my Thule space case and my kids' 8' kayak. Will also set up a way to hang fishing rods and paddles under the crossbars.

I think I'm going to skip the springover. The boat is at a good height for storing it and being able to work on it. As for clearance, I pushed it pretty hard on my camping trip where the jack got bent. I've found a jack that has a few inches more clearance and that will make all the difference I need.

Also - note I painted the wheels and ditched the Jeep plastic centers. Paint is Rustoleum Metallic dark grey. They came out really well. May be time to go Duplicolor Graphite on my 100....

Update: This thing has been serving me very well. Camping rig. Beach Trip Rig. Hauled up to 4 kayaks. Countless Home Depot Trips & Dump Runs too.

These are great trailers. Great reuse of a Toyota truck. I am working on a trailer using a new FJ43 tub. I have thread on here. I am doing a storage box on the tongue too similar to the contractor box. Using six bolt hubs. Those are 265/75/16 tires.

I am considering selling my trailer. Still in great shape. I have added home made lift shackles for a little bit of lift. PM me if interested.
