Master warning light came on ... no idea why (1 Viewer)

Truck is only a week old for me, and loving it so far. Tonight, I sat in my car for about 30 mins. Left the headlights on accidentally. When I put car in gear and pulled out I got the master warning light (I believe yellow) and several chimes. It went off, and came back on again with the chimes.

Immediately pulled out the blue driver, but only codes were for a solar sensor for AC. I am sensing this is a very stupid generic warning, but I can't imagine why it went on. As I sat there with the codes running I did notice my e-brake on. Not sure if I put it on or if i had been driving the few feet with it, if that could cause it at all.

Do these stupid warnings pop up? what should I look for next time? it seems to address a number of things. Thoughts?

On my ‘21 if you drive with the e-brake engaged you will get the master warning light, the associated tone, and the “BRAKE” warning light will light up or flash all within a couple feet of travel.

Has the warning returned or was it just that one time?

What year vehicle?

Sorry. It’s a 2011. I have not had much time to check. But it started right as I pulled away from the curb so perhaps that’s it. I can’t remember exactly.

Yes, it will make noises and warn you if you try to drive with the emergency brake engaged.
