The Master Switch for the auto windows and door locks went out yesterday. Looks like a new one is going to $350-400. I've seen used between $150-250.
I have also seen repair being mentioned as an option, but no details.

At this point, I guess I'm really trying to decide if the saving for used is worth the risk of replacing again a few years from now.

Also wondering if the switch out of an '03+ will work in my 2000?

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks

That sounds like the problem I had originally. I took the unit out to have a look, but nothing worked immediately after putting it back together. After a while, the other windows worked, but the drivers window and lock didn't come back.

Wondering if there is a way to reset, or did I fry it?

Highly unlikely that you damaged it. When you 'took a look', what did you do?
If you separated the white electronics board from the black rocker panel it possible that you missed setting the switch arm [white circles in my pic on the thread above] with the rocker slot. The switch def would not work if that was the case.

No cracks when I opened it up, but the white pins were in the wrong position. The rocker was not latching on. Going to put it back in tomorrow after the rain stops.

Thanks for the guidance! Couldn't come up with anything through search.

That did the trick.

The white pins on the driver window and lock had slipped out of place so the rockers weren't connected.
Much cheaper than a new master switch.

Does anyone know if you can buy the buttons separately from the entire unit? A couple of mine are a bit dodgy looking but the unit itself is fully functional. Thanks!

Cruiserparts.net had a few, I think. Also saw some on eBay today. I found several things by googling land cruiser switch. Don't know if they are year specific.

Good to hear that you got it sorted. Faster and cheaper than a new $400 switch, eh?
Cheers!

Absolutely! My wallet, errr, Slee order is very thankful!

@PorkSoda, thanks...have looked around but haven't seen the door lock and/or window lock buttons by themselves. Closest I've found are the power window buttons.

After a closer look, some of the switches I saw were for 80 series.

Am I the only person whose master window switch buttons ALL broke loose? They all still 'work' if you press and bend them in unnatural ways but it is an obvious poor choice of plastic for this function. I'm afraid I'll have to bite and buy a new one. Ouch. Thanks again Toyota...

Before you drop $300 on this, take your switch apart (link earlier in this thread). It may well be repairable. If you are unsure, post a pic of the black plastic switch base and we'll have a look. Its typically spider web cracking in the plastic and the repair is stronger than the original.

No, I had the same thing when I bought he car.
The previous owner bought a replacement but that was for a Toyota, not a Lexus.
And although they look the same and fits in the door, the connector is different.
After a year I found a wrecker with a working switch. AUD$275 deliverd.
