I'm having a brake fluid leak from what appears to be the master cylinder. I noticed the leak about 2 months ago but attributed it to the ac condenser. There were no lights on the dash and nothing triggered off techstream diagnosis. However, yesterday the brake light came on and I saw that it was a little low on brake fluid and reran techstream and still no codes. The light went off once the levels were back to normal from the fluid top off. I did notice some squish to the brakes but nothing to bad.

Yesterday I tried two different mechanics and both mentioned replacing the entire Master Cylinder with the brake booster assembly (over 2k in parts) and $300-$700 in labor. We ended up finding a used Master Cylinder online for $350 dollars from LKQ. I am afraid that that party may not work if I don't replace any seals/orings while this is done or if this is even applicable? The last thing I want is to miss a critical part to replace with something new if it is reasonable to do so such as a new seal.

I'm curious if there are any reseals or critical parts that I should try to replace new that can be done with this as my GX 470 only has about 94k miles but it is a 2003?

I had success with a leaking transfer case and had it resealed at a fraction of the cost of a new case.

The only part I have been able to find is the OEM Cylinder kit brake master 04493-60350 but there doesnt appear to be very many if any seals. The leak did cause some of the paint on my frame to start peeling does anyone recommend any paint to use to repair the missing paint so far my GX 470 has had little to no rust down here in the south.

New Brake pads and rotors were added along with a brake fluid flush about 9 months ago. No leaks until 2 months ago.

Any help would be appreciated.

Don't buy used. Buy a complete rebuild one from Andy Le. That way you start completely fresh.
This is 05-09 version but look up his seller ID and he should list the other listing.

Thanks I just called him and he is able to sell me a repaired/refurbished unit for a decent price glad im not using some unknown untested junkyard master cylinder.

Will update this thread to see how it goes as I am venmoing him directly instead of going through ebay to save $ on fees.

I'd buy new or professionally remanufactured. See if you can buy a reman with a lifetime warranty somewhere. Perhaps one of the big auto chains.

I've rebuilt them, they work, for a while. I've always found brakes to be rather important. Not a place to be cheap.

Also, the guy from ebay, half of his feedback is as a buyer. I've found on ebay a seller can just disappear, not saying this guy will, he may be the best ever. Plus ,by going direct he is cheating ebay. Honest people never cheat or steal. PERIOD. Personally I would go elsewhere.

You have zero recourse outside of eBay - (for all its faults - I'd still insist the deal go on through eBay).

Many people on GXOR and the other GX group and even land cruiser group get it from Andy Le. Never heard anybody said anything negative yet. He even got customer all over the world.
