Hey All,
Been a while since I’ve posted.
I’ve got a 2002 lx470 with Nav that has been having sound issues
It first stared 5 years ago when the music would cut out during a song. Then it got quieter and quieter to the point of not working at all. When I first started researching it then everyone said replace the Amp, but back then amps were hard to find used and were expensive. Fast forward to now I found some amps from eBay that were an okay price. Today I installed the amp and ta-da music worked. Then within 30 seconds it started to cut out and show the same symptoms from before the original amp went out. It plays sound when someone talks or sings, but once the music (some might say the “drop hits”) begins and become louder, it starts cutting out. This happens with all types of music. I’ve tested it with a second used amp, same thing. After all this I’m now thinking there could be an issue with wiring or the power being supplied to the amp. I don’t have any other symptoms of electrical issues in the car besides this. My questions are; has anyone had the same issues before? If so what was your fix?, is there a way I could just bypass this amp all together while using the stock head-unit?
Thanks for all the help in advance.
