Mandatory "Everyday Carry" tools?

You drive a Toyota, you shouldn't need any tools. My Wife daily drivers our 260K mile 80 and she doesn't carry anything but a AAA card and cell phone. Why, if your truck is in good shape do you need to carry a tool kit? On a road trip into the wilderness would be a different situation, we carry my 65lb road bag with all manner of special tools.

Is your wife a competent enough mechanic to use the tools if she had them ?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned duct tape, a knife, a pair of dikes, some wire and some zip ties. I've had to wire up shocks and exhaust before while I was on daily commute. You can probably find a small roll of wire at HF for less than a $1. Also a 10mm and 12mm wrench for the occasional bolt and especially if you need to get the battery terminals off.

And since you're in Colorado, I trust you're only loading 5 rounds in your 13 round magazine..... you know.... for the children....

Ha, yep, and the snacks have to be organic! I'm guessing I have the only truck in Boulder with a NRA sticker!
