I don't have experience with the fj skid plates, but I have been overwhelmed with the beefiness of all of 4+ products, they simply do not skimp.

Just my .02

They are very, very durable hunks of steel. I've dragged the whole vehicle weight along them when high centred, banged them on rocks, etc. etc. No problems. They also cover everything all the way down to the end of the tcase. Very nice. BTW: The photos on the MAF website are my truck :)

Ok I have been looking closely at the pictures, and they do look pretty thick. Does the front piece mesh well with the ARB bumper?

You can see where the plates and the bottom part of the ARB meet in the lower, right hand picture on the MAF website. The MAF/4+ plate overlaps the bottom of the ARB plate and is bolted through. It looks fine (aesthetically) and I've never had any problems with it. As you might expect from the images, it's the low point (fold) on the front MAF/4+ plate that takes most rock hits, and it does great (I have plenty of scrapes on it, but no buckling - so it works really well).

EDIT: whoa, why did "scrapes" not making thru the thought-police filters? It's a word meaning deep scratches that rhymes with "apes" and starts with "scr" :)

I keep trying to kill mine...they wont die...they are great
