Thanks to everyone for their great support of this forum. Already it has been very useful in getting our 1991 back into better shape. Sadly here in Ecuador, fuel injection was not an option till the mid 90s. That said, I am thinking about at least changing to a pointless ignition. Several people here are running Pertronix with good results. Currently my family and I live in Ecuador and so our 1991 FJ80 is a Carb unit with points. FYI, a lot of the 4x4 buggies racers here use Land Cruiser chassis and drivetrains. Cool right!!! I will post some photos from a semi-final heat held in Ibarra, Ecuador recently.
Anyway, a Mallory Unilite Distributor while costly would be easier to get as my mother will be coming for a visit soon. Any thoughts on the quality, anyone running one on a 3F, or ideas for distributor/coil combination?
