Thanks to the awesome posts on this forum, I installed the prestigious society bypass unit this week on a new to me 2013 LC. After buttoning it all up and starting the car, I now have a maintenance required message. I have 2 questions. 1. Is it possible that disconnecting the battery caused the message, and 2. Can I get more details on these messages with a basic odbII reader?

Btw, the bypass unit works great. It is a little hairy or tear apart such a pretty dash, but it all goes back together pretty easily.

You'll probably need the $40 Toyota OBD2 cable and Techstream software off ebay to read the codes.

I replaced my wife's battery in her 2015 4Runner yesterday and it lost all of the history on mpg, everything else was still there and no lights.

Disconnecting the battery shouldn't cause that by itself. We've all disconnected batteries for various reasons, and I've never heard of it (or experienced it) causing error messages.

Did you disconnect the negative cable only? If not give that a try. Should clear the code unless there really is an issue.
Good luck

Maybe you just happened to hit your mileage interval for an oil change. Reset and see if it comes back.

Put odometer in trip a position. Shut the car down. Press start switch twice without your foot on the brake while holding down the odometer reset button and you will see it clear.

I think you are right, it was probably a coincidence. I changed the oil and filter, reset the maintenance interval and all is good.
