I was looking in the maintenance manual of LC diesel V8 at the dealer.
It looks that the oil changes needs tobe done every 5000 km .
Can somebody confirm this figures .
For me it would mean an oil change every month. :o

I don't believe anyone here has a diesel version as they are not sold here in the US. Maybe someone from over seas will answer!

It depends where you are.

Australia is 10,000km, South Africa is 5000km. All depends on diesel quality and how much the local toyota company wants to slug you I guess.

I actualy live in the uae at the moment.
Suprising that australia is every 10000 km.
Belgium is every 15000km .

I suppose that the conditions overall inaustralia are equivaleent to UAE?

That's quite poor. Shorter oil change intervals than the 1HD-FTE it replaced.
Many diesels these days have 25,000km oil change intervals, you'd expect a brand new toyota engine to be up there too.

Yes it is.

I have heard of about 30000 km.

I do think it is only to spice up there bills .
Local dealers feel so proud in saying that you need to d so .

Damn you buy a Toyota because it wil never decieve you or fall on you. And that under the worst conditions. Not t change oil and oil filter as on a Ferrari evry 5000km to assure yousreself it wlll do so for that you buy a Land rover . Sorry for the Land rover fans but it was like that now may be a bit improved but not yet that I think.

20,000km oil change intervals on a landrover TD5. They were released in 99.;)

It's the advent of computer controls to stop soot getting into the oil that's the main driver in greatly increased diesel service intervals, filtering methods have picked up too.

The service book for Australia states every 20,000klm for the Diesel (10,000klm for petrol)
