I find myself asking this non-tech question today..Am I being completely out of place or obtuse expressing my ideas publicly versus first going through the club?

For example my marketing and advertising ideas like the PodCast or Badge/Plaque Stuff, do these really have their place in our hobby?

*Yes I need to renew our membership but figured I'd ask this b/c if I am a complete moron for going there with this: https://forum.ih8mud.com/tlca-discu...we-go-back-nice-dash-plaques.html#post6307762 we'll skip our fees that way you all can say I'm off in my own damned world full of worthless ideas and juvenile antics.

Seriously though, if I'm doing things "wrong" by all means I know you guys are more than happy to call me on it. This way if you prefer I run this stuff through the club via pm or meeting beforehand from now on I can do so.

The same goes for the posts in here, if they're inappropriate since the viewing membership is only so much, let alone those that actively use it I'll stop it and make ammends.

Sincerely,
That NutJob who doesn't even own a Cruiser anymore..

..and isn't afraid to self evaluate in a publicly posted fashion..

Personally I'd rather have a fiscally sound TLCA than a dash plaque.... We have 3-4K members... Even if they are $2 a plaque that's $6-8K.... I like the plaques, I have a whole drawer full, but I'm not going to complain if they go away...

What can I say, when I don't get to travel and play and wheel my mind comes up with all sorts of "neat/cool" ideas. They can also be lame. :meh: I just sent off a sort-of proposal on that note already. Maybe it'd be a better idea as a "For Sale" thing instead now on the TLCA site and might look into production of them. Maybe they'll bite, maybe they won't..I might just make a couple "prototypes" for myself anyhow. :D

Back on the main topic though, or related to it, was/are the financial's the reason for the deference? Man.. :meh:

Seriously, I can just as easily keep this stuff off the board and within only the scope and ears of certain people making my life less miserable with less drama. I should really consider the possibly someone might get hurt b/c someone once presented the idea and got it shot down or feels I somehow "stole" an idea. Both of which I've dealt with in marketing and business before. Ultimately why I post this and why I ask if the group feels it just best for me to STFU on this stuff so they don't look bad by my actions relating back. :steer:

Dash Plaque = Go hardware and get a set of 1/2" letter punches.
Clean a nice spot on dash, punch in TLCA, then use wifes nail polish to paint over letters, wipe off excess while still wet and wala' , a one of a kind TLCA plaque.
Don't forget to have someone hold a body dolly on the backside or you will cave in the dash.

 :flipoff2: 40, 55, and 60 series owners think they sooo coooolll. ;) Us feeble folks have to resort to wood engravers for our plastic. So apparently I am that far out there and this topics amongst them.

FWIW it looks like I'll be @ yodaman's sometime before 2pm on the 24th. I'm thinking it's time for that Chick-Fil-A trip so we can discuss this topic more in depth? :hillbilly:

Sam, wanna go? I'll need to pick up a rental so I can :steer: home and to the airport the next evening.

Plastic dash = NO PROBLEM, just heat up the end of the letter punch with torch or lighter, preferably holding punch with pliers, little pressure and WALA, as John says.

Oakie Plaque for plastic dashes.

And YES I own a 40

Work schedule returns to normal by the 13th (after a 26 day work week...) so I should definitely be free by then. Thursdays were my Friday back when there were more than two of us at work, so I don't see the problem.

I may be down there around then, too for a new clutch master cylinder. First, though, I need a new muffler, mine blew up last night going into work. Best timing in the world though, it scared off a tailgater!
