Has anyone tried this unit yet? Although not a Garmin, seems to be the best of all worlds maybe.

The Crossover is a model that does both streets and topo.

Seeing one in Wally-World today lead me to bump this topic for anyone's input.

This looks like it could be just the ticket! I can't wait to hear real world experience.

I've had a crossover since the middle of last summer. It is my first and only gps. I think it is an adequate unit- in all three modes. My biggest gripe is that I cannot get the 'pan' feature to work. I have updated the software, even sent the unit back to magellan, and it still won't work properly. This is especially frustrating when you are trying to use the unit to plan or review a trip. The driving directions can sometimes be wacky. I have keyed in familiar trips just to see how it would route them. The unit rarely comes up with the best route. That being said, it has always gotten me where I needed to go. Also, the road maps are several years old and there are no updates available.

I paid $350 for the unit......far less than the cost of two seperate road/topo units. The crossover's versatility comes at the expense of performance. If I could do it over, I'd buy seperate units.
