MAF Header Install (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any problem with the steering box while installing a MAF 6into1 header? I just put it in there to see what it'd look like and it seemed like the steering box/shield was in the way. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought it was supposed to just fit....?

What's the truck? On my 40 I believe I had to move a brakeline bracket.

My 76 had no clearance problems with the steering box. It will be very close to the heat shield, but it shouldnt touch it. I removed the shield prior to installing the header, then put it back on after the header was tight in place. I also found it was easier to bring the header up from below than it was to try to wiggle it around from above in the engine compartment.

I just checked mine and there's about 2-3" of clearance from the steering box. I just fropped it in from the top and it worked fine on mine.

I also had to relocate the front brake line, but no steering clearance issues. Installed it from the top too, but you gotta be patient.

ah... I thought is was some crazy lingo for welding or cutting or something crazy. Well, I'm just waiting on the Seal and heat riser from JT's and I'll let ya'll know, thanks for all the replies.
