I'm pretty new to this forum and I need some help. I have an 89 FJ62 who is slowly dying. Most recent problem is the AFM sensor has died replacing it so damn expensive and I'm curios about doing a MAF conversion. I'm having a lot of trouble finding any build threads on how to do this. Can anyone post me a link! thanks much

You should be able to pick up an AFM for a good price in the classifieds here on mud: https://forum.ih8mud.com/classifieds/
How is it dying? They can be damaged inside at the wiring connector if someone tries to unscrew and remove the plug rather than releasing the clip. IIRC, you can pop off the plastic top piece and take a look inside for damage. I'll see if I can pull up a picture.

There are 5 (I think) connections inside at the wiring connection. You could check to make sure one or more aren't buggered.

hey thanks a lot for posting the classifieds this is incredible. i hadn't even thought about looking there, lots of them for sale for reasonable prices. My wife is going to be much happier. I haven't looked inside but im guessing its trashed because i can only get a weak reading from one of the prongs using a voltmeter. I wont be surprised to open it up and see the insides melted or corroded or something crazy. POs didn't care for her the way i do. thanks a lot for the help
