If you mean the Colt M1911, you could have something there. Being a crazy Texan and an admirer of General George S. Patton, Cousin Lee usually totes a matched pair of pearl handled M1911's.

Tech content: He thinks the pearl handles match the whitewalls on his 40.

Ivory grips if you please; you know what Patton said about pearl grips!:princess:

That, and John Moses Browning is too long for a user name. :)

BTW BBQ Boy, your avatar makes my mouth water every time I see it!

Let us know which springs you end up with. I'd like to replace my 2.5" lift which is sagging pretty bad on the driver's side rear. Leaning towards Alcan myself but trying to decide if I should go 4" or stay with 2.5".

i don't know what I am leaning towards. I was going with a 4" but I talked with Kurt today from Cruiser Outfitters and he made me believe that OME 3" will give a far superior ride than a 4". So now I am back to the drawing board. I am leaning towards OME because of their reputation but I LOVE the look of a 4". That is my dilemma.

Then maybe you should go with a 4" lift, see if you like it, then remove a leaf if you prefer. Also, when you remove a leaf, you could get longer shackles; softer ride with the look of a 4" lift.

Only a suggestion.

Hmmm. I didn't think about that. See, the same question being asked 100 times provided something to me that I never read.

Can you add a leaf to the OME?

Man-a-fre should go through with it, if they can generate the capital. They will start with a 4" rear and 2 1/2" front (sorry they and I still like shackle reversals). There will be the same for 60's. The leaves will be a bit longer than anything on the market, considerably softer with more free arch to maintain height. Berlin eyes for strength, open clamps and friction pads. I worked with the engineers at the spring company to get the maximum deflection ( travel )
possible without sacrificing strength or longevity. First there will be prototypes
then we will actually test them before building and selling.
If the wheel travel expectations are met they may require longer slip yokes
but definately will require longer shackle, most likely 2" over rears ( they will be all up when flexed ) I hope I can restrict the fronts to 1 1/2" over....
The worst part of this is I probably won't be still around to partake in the new springs. The economy no longer seems to be able to support a high volume LC parts manufacturer. Good chance by the time these are available I'll be watching from the sideline.
I will however buy a set, for the 60 and the 40.

No MAF problems here. Only good experience with service and products.

So Dave, what's the story on these new MAF/4+ Plus springs?
