After 40 years of wheeling, modifying, and repairing Land Cruisers, I’ve come to the realization it’s time to part ways with my ‘Cruiser addiction.
Up for sale is a group of 4 things: a 1975 FJ40, a 1972 FJ55, a utility trailer built for off-roading, and the 40-year collection of spare parts. All items will be sold as one group, nothing will be separated for individual sale.
Basic Overview
1975 FJ40 body and frame: Originally purchased by me in 1987 and modified over the years, it eventually ended up with a stout drivetrain containing high pinion Dana 60 axles and a fuel injected Chevy 350 among other things. Currently the FJ40 is just a frame and body with non-op registration.
1972 FJ55: Originally sourced as just a frame and body from a friend, the entire drivetrain from the FJ40 was moved over and this became the family wheeling wagon in 2000. A broken rear axle shaft sidelined the beast in 2007 and it sat for the next 10 years. Over the past 6 years virtually all the critical systems in the drivetrain have either been rebuilt or replaced. Currently running, driving, licensed and registered.
Utility Trailer: Hand built for our family off-roading adventures utilizing a Toyota Hi-Lux mini truck long bed. The custom steel frame holds 2 plastic drinking water tanks below the bed ( approx. 25gal), an axle with Dana 60 spindle/hubs to utilize the same wheel/tire combinations as the ‘Cruiser, and a military pintle hitch. Currently licensed and registered.
Parts/Tools: Basically, all the accumulated spare parts, used parts, manuals and such from 40 years of Chevota ownership.
Attached are a few photos, but the majority of the info related to this sale can be found at: FJ40 FJ55 Land Cruiser and Trailer Project Sale
I’m happy to answer questions, but please be respectful and read thru all the info on the photo/information site first: I’ve put a lot of time and energy trying to accurately describe and photograph what’s for sale, but words can only go so far. If you still have questions, feel free to reach out to me, I’m happy to answer them. Or better yet, I highly recommend serious buyers take the time to make an appointment with me to stop by in person and view/talk about the items for sale.
Offered at $20,000 obo
