So the trip to Mormon Lake was excellent! For the highway, I aired up to 50 PSI on the KM2 255/85's and my FZJ hurtled past trucks at 75 MPH with trailer in-tow! I slowed for the hills on I-17 and avoided 2nd gear and my 180k+ mile 1FZ-FE pulled them all in 3rd gear!
The trailer packed out faster than expected, so a good rule of thumb is, you can always use more room!
It tracked beautifully behind the 80 and with the exception of starting and stopping, I hardly knew it was behind me! In fact, it didn't show in the side mirrors unless I was turning. Eventually, I'll have a rack, truckbox/kitchen, and a rooftop tent on both the 80 and the trailer, but for this year, we made the best of it!
The rain, sleet, and 7" of snow made for a beautiful mess on Mormon Lake bottom near Flagstaff...
Trucks and RVs were stuck everywhere!
He were are on our ride home, lots of lessons were learned, I'm taking notes and modifying the packing list for s***ty weather like I've never done before. It was a wonderful experience, I met the best people, and I cannot wait for our next adventure!
