ok, the company is out of British Columbia, which is waaaay far from Maine, but I noticed on the website that it said the trailer were in central and eastern canada. That's still a large area! Any idea exactly what town? I tried calling the number on the pdf flier, but it says it is no longer available. hmmm.....

Did this thread die? I'd be interested.

No, not dead-- we are simply waiting for BMAN to let loose with with his trailer plans.

Or come up with some decent and complete plans from somewhere.

As I said above, we recently bought a utility trailer from Graverly's in AJ. I talked to the old boy about making us some trailers and he seemed game, but we needed some actual plans to make it happen. If I could ever get set of plans complete -- or near complete -- I would take them there-- with BMAN's permission-- and see what kind of price we can get.

Jared

Of wait-- this is the "buy" thread-- buy does appear to be dead. "Build" may still happen. See above.

BUSY BUSY BUSY. Things at work, not to mention the new club, have been so crazy that I haven't had a chance to make the plans complete and workable. I will try to work on them in the next couple of weeks. Jared, I promise that you'll be the first person that gets a copy. I can send you a PDF file or I can print full sized copies to take to the builder. Whatever you want. I am working on 2 different designs. The first is basically a 416 replica witha working tailgate. and the second will be a full custom. the custom is a full 4'1"x6'6" interior dimension. This is slightly larger than a 416 but does not require the step out at the top of the box like a 416. Track width may become an issue on the custom. I will keep you in the loop. Ma I'll just send you a PDF for comments until we can refine the design to be what we want.

jared the guy in AJ will give you the same problem i give you. he wont be able to do the sheet metal 416 type box without mucho $$. that box (any welded steel box) is going to blow the cap off an $800 projected trailer budget.

I got a single box price of $600 (Way too much) and I don't think that they'd drop too much with a multi box purchase until we hit like 10 or 12 boxes (maybe). If I knew anyone with an 8-0 steel break, I'd build the damned boxes myself.

Glad to see this topic rise from the dead-- but these posts should be moved to the other thread.

If the M416 style box is such a problem--- is it worth keeping? I like the shape of the M416 box, but I am not sure how much I would be willing to pay for it-- over the cost of the straight sides.

I have another buddy in the steel fab business. I will try and find out if has what it takes to make these boxes-- you call it a 8-0 break? What exactly is that? He has ironworkers and stuff like that, but I don't know if he has what you are talking about. I guess I could ask him. . . .

Jared

PS-- BMAN-- send me the PDFs-- I will keep them confidential.

Yup, for bending sheetmetal. would also need acces to an 8-0 shear. .
